SPEMD'S WEBSITE
Sociedade Portuguesa de Estomatologia e Medicina Dentária (Portuguese Society of Stomatology and Dental Medicine), an association governed by private law, with headquarters in Rua Prof. Fernando da Fonseca, no. 10A, office 7, Lisbon, with the legal person number 500496684.
1- Content and rights of ownership:
The content of SPEMD's website is everything available in it for the general public or for authorized users only, thus including, namely, texts, images, videos, web design and software (the Content).
The Content are protected by the legal provisions in force regarding intellectual property and the protection of computer programs.
The rights of intellectual property and software related to the Content belong to SPEMD, except when otherwise expressly indicated on the website.
SPEMD also owns the rights regarding its trademarks, which are used in the Content, namely, the brands “SPEMD” and “Revista da SPEMD.”
2- Use, risk and responsibility:
The access and use of SPEMD's Journal website are entirely at the user´s own risk, and SPEMD assumes no responsibility for the consequences of using the Content, either correctly or incorrectly, both regarding consequential damages and lost profits.
SPEMD makes the best efforts to keep the Content updated and reliable but cannot guarantee that it is free of inaccuracies or outdated. The Content can be altered at any time, and SPEMD is not obliged to inform you in advance or give notice of those alterations.
SPEMD is committed to developing the security of its website by taking the technical, physical and logical measures of protection that prove to be appropriate and viable. However, SPEMD cannot guarantee that the Content, particularly the files available for sharing, are free from any malware or do not generally contain characteristics or harmful potential for the user's systems.
3- Interruption and suspension of access:
SPEMD may, at any given moment, without previous notice and without announcing any justification, interrupt the access to its website for the necessary or useful amount of time, namely for technical or administrative purposes or due to any causes of force majeure.
Such interruptions may be of short or long duration, causing the suspension of access to SPEMD's website for an indefinite period of time.
SPEMD assumes no obligation or liability to warrant website users the maintenance of the access to its website or its replacement, under any deadline or conditions.
4- Cookies policy:
A cookie, under the HTTP communication protocol used on the Internet, is a small computer file or data packdge sent by a website to the user's internet browser when the user visits the website. Each time the user visits the website again, the browser sends the cookie back to the server to notify of previous activities by the user. Cookies were designed to be a reliable mechanism to help websites remember information about the user's activity, such as recorded passwords, items added to the shopping cart in an online store, and links that were previously clicked. Thus, they improve navigation by increasing the efficiency of response (source: Wikipedia).
5- Protection of personal data:
SPEMD complies with the prevailing legislation on personal data protection in the scope of its website.
Whenever personal data treatment occurs, the user will be presented with the terms and purposes of that data treatment, and its express consent for that purpose will be obtained, where legally required.
6- Areas for login and registration:
In the areas for login and registration on SPEMD's website, the corresponding specific rules will be presented, besides any other information required to the user.
In any case, to be able to access the areas for login and registration, as a general rule, the user shall agree to assume full responsibility for their login data and password.

For all purposes relating to SPEMD's Journal website, the user shall contact the SPEMD's secretariat to secretariado@spemd.pt.
8- Applicable law and competent court:
The present Terms and Conditions shall be governed by the Portuguese Law and any disputes concerning their implementation, and their interpretation shall be exclusively settled under the jurisdiction of the district of Lisbon, which corresponds to the headquarters of SPEMD.
